set foot in the classroom.
Instructors may use
multimedia to engage their students or may have them visit particular
interesting websites to do their research and learning.
Additionally, students may work alone or in groups, interacting via
email, chatrooms, or an online document sharing area. Because
the class is not centered on purely lecture, the possibilities are
endless.
Will you learn as much
in an online classroom as you would in a face-to-face classroom?
Well, research has shown that student outcomes from the online
learning environment are comparable to those in face-to-face
classrooms (see “The No-Significant Difference Phenomenon,” Thomas
L. Russell, 1999). Some research even suggests that students
learn more in the online environment than in face-to-face classes.
